To the entire Eckert family,
I am sorry for your loss. I was in Mr. Eckert's Chemistry classes at WAHS and all of my siblings had him as well. He will be remembered as a kind teacher with a warm sense of humor. Certainly an icon to the alums. God bless you.

Please accept our condolences on Mr. Eckert's passing. I was glad to see him again at the Class of '65's breakfast prior to our reunion. He had a good influence on my educational pursuits and I was glad to have the chance to say thanks.

Dear Nancy and Family,
So sorry for your loss. Mr. Eckert was an inspirational person. My two years of chemistry at Wilson High School inspired me to be a chemistry major in college. I was also fortunate to interact with you and Dick at the Russian Church in Bethlehem. My Uncle is a member at the church, and he and Dick played basketball at Hellertown High. I also recall when you both graciously allowed us to see your home when Kathy and I were looking for a 55 and over community. Dick's passion for model trains was amazing. I will forever regret not getting my grandsons to see his collection. Finally, I was so pleased that Dick and Martin Klinger, another WHS teacher, agreed to come to a breakfast with the Class of 1965 in June of 2013. The shared memories will never be forgotten. God bless you and your family.

Nancy and Family,

I was deeply saddened to read the obituaries this morning. From my playing days, teaching days, coaching days, and television days, Coach was always a valuable source on direction and inspiration. I will never forget our championship season in 1963 and the wonderful guidance offered by Coach Eckert.

He was an inspiration in the classroom and was a valuable colleague when I joined him on the staff at Wilson.

My condolences to you all, but rejoice in the fact that he made the world a better place by his presence.
