What a wonderful man Dickie was. Planet Earth will never be the same with his absence. But then, Heaven will never be the same either with his presence! Hell be singing to the Angels and entertaining the masses. We all feel your loss Shirley, and family, as your hubby of 62 years 11 months was 1 of a Kind. Praying for you all and smiling that God Blessed You So Much with the gift of Dickie in your life. And yes, He lived his life like he sang: My Way. Move over Sinatra - Dickies Here!

If life is valued by the people you have made happy then my dad was the richest man I know. You lived a great life Dad and you did it your way. You were loved by everyone who knew you and we will all miss you. You're gonna wake up in a city that never sleeps and be top of the list. Sing with the stars!

I worked many years with "Scheidy" at The Morning Call. He made our nights more fun than should be allowed! We bowled together at The Fearless and he was a good teacher.
I will always smile when I remember him. Thoughts and prayers to Shirley and family. Heaven is a little more fun with him there.

Condolences to Dick's family. I worked with him for a number of years at The Call and remember him as quite the character. Early on, when the daily number lottery started, "Scheidy" and Dick Petro, a colleague from the newsroom library, would watch the TV monitor, clutching their tickets in hopes of wins. Usually, it was bellows and groans for being "so close." His page layout designs won him at least one award, and he was always willing to teach others what he knew.

SHIRLEY AND FAMILY -- Please accept my sincere condolences at this time. I'm sorry that I won't be able to take part in a celebration of Scheidy's life. We spent lots of good times on the golf course and the race track in the best days of The Morning Call. He was one of a kind and a good friend. I love the photo. That's the way I will remember him. Hope all of you can share some special times, too.
